FAQ
How much hair do I need?
A full sew-in weave would need approximately 10 to 12 ounces of hair. We recommend buying 3 bundles of hair for lengths 12” to 30”. It’s always best to have enough hair than run out during the installation. Each bundle weighs 3.5 ounces
Keep in mind that since the hair is sold by total weight the rule is: “The longer the hair, the shorter the weft”
How long will this hair last?
With good maintenance, this hair can last up to 8-12 months. Please treat this hair as your own. Please remember that excessive heat and/or color can/will result in the reduction of its natural pattern of the hair.
Does this hair shed?
Any hair that has been manufactured and stitched onto a weft is entitled to experience minimum shedding. However, to prevent any and all shedding we recommend applying Tropical Hair Weft sealer along the track of each bundle of hair upon the installation as well as stitching and knotting around the weft and not through the weft of the tracks (if a sew’n install is being done). This will definitely help prevent shedding. Remember, proper maintenance is extremely important and advised.
What Length should I choose?
The length of our hair depends on the texture you choose. Our Straight human hair naturally is longer because it lays completely flat when it's measured. We measure the length of our curly Virgin hair when it is straight because it has more volume for the same weight. The length of our wavy hair texture lies in-between that of the straight and curly.
It may be a good idea to select a slightly longer length because some trimming may be needed. Straight Virgin hair is true to its length, wavy hair is usually 1.5" shorter (unstraightened), Curly hair is usually 1.5" shorter than Wavy hair.
We often suggest customers purchase hair 2" longer if they desire a Curly hair look. It's very important to choose a length which you will be happy with. A very long length can be hard to maintain if you are new to hair extensions
